At OSM, we're redefining how construction projects are planned, coordinated, and delivered. By combining cutting-edge technology with exceptional craftsmanship, we help our project teams solve problems before they reach the field.
We're looking for a VDC technician who is excited about construction technology, 3D modeling, and digital collaboration. Whether you're an early-career BIM professional or someone looking to grow your experience with Virtual Design & Construction, you'll play a key role in supporting our project teams through model coordination, field technology, and reality capture.
If you enjoy learning new technology, solving complex problems, and seeing your work directly impact successful projects, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
• Assist in developing and maintaining 3D BIM models for commercial construction projects.
• Support coordination efforts by integrating architectural, structural, and MEP models into federated project models.
• Participate in constructability reviews and model-based coordination meetings.
• Prepare model-based layout files for robotic total stations and GNSS field equipment.
• Assist with field layout, laser scanning (LiDAR), and reality capture activities on active job sites.
• Process and organize point cloud data to support project verification and as-built documentation.
• Produce coordination drawings, clash reports, visualizations, and model-derived deliverables.
• Maintain organized project documentation and ensure compliance with company BIM/VDC standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to improve project planning and execution.
• Continuously expand your knowledge of BIM software, field technology, and construction innovation.
What We're Looking For
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 0–3 years of experience with BIM, VDC, CAD, or construction technology
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit; exposure to Navisworks or similar coordination software is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to learn new software and field technologies
• Experience with laser scanning, point clouds, Autodesk Forma, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, or Trimble technologies is a plus—but not required
