I own a large house, originally purchased with the intent of turning it into a B&B. I soon decided I wouldn't be a great a day-to-day maid and started renting out rooms to mature adults. 18 years later and I'm still renting rooms. I have an apartment in one area of the house, so landlord is on-site.
Coming March 1st, I will have a sunny, corner furnished room available for rent for one person.
The property is located north of Bozeman about 8.5 miles from downtown. It is on a large lot, with quiet neighbors and a great view of the Bridgers. The $450/month rent includes shared bath, kitchen (2 refrigerators), living room, washer/dryer, fireplace, gas grill, satellite tv, wifi, all utilities and snow removal**. I also buy all toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies (to keep things simple).
This is a nice, well cared for house. Incoming tenants are expected to be responsible, mature, kind and compatible professionals. Maid service is not included with this rental. All tenants participate in keeping the house clean and assist in maintaining the yard. This is a completely non-smoking (any genre) and tobacco-free house and property....completely.
There is one cat on the premises (she is really timid and rarely seen by tenants) and a kitten adopted us in July. He is now grown up and very personable. That said, there can be no more animals.
There is a minimum 3-month lease, as well as an application and reference check. A $400 Security Deposit is required at lease signing. The interview and selection process starts with our first contact. Each person that indicates a legitimate interest is dealt with on an individual basis. I won't rent to anyone that cannot come out, see the house and meet in person.
I'm looking for an active, vibrant and creative housemate. Age and gender are much less important than maturity. You can be 30 or you can be 60. Positive mindset and active lifestyle are key. This is not a party house. Let me repeat....mature, responsible, professional. Open-minded and kind. And, you absolutely must be willing to keep the common spaces clean and pitch in with keeping the house up. These are not large tasks, but maintaining a nice place to live doesn't happen by magic. We all participate.
**Snow Removal - I hire the parking area and driveway cleared. 9 times out of 10 this is timely and well done. North of Bozeman, we get 25% less precipitation than town. Roads in the country are cleared well and are significantly smoother than in town (where they can't keep up and don't have anywhere to put the snow). However, this is Montana. There will be snow. The parking area has a good windbreak but vehicles are not garaged.
Tenants supply their own hangers, linens, pillows, towels, toiletries and laundry supplies.
If you are interested, please respond with a bit of info about yourself and your situation and your timeline for needing a place to live.
