After a test trip to Baja in the stock Sportsmobile, I quickly realized it wasnβt built for real-world overlanding. Cabinet joints failed on washboards, and the suspension was inadequate for anything beyond REC.Gov campgrounds. So, I stripped it down to bare steel and rebuilt it to be a true expedition platformβbuilt for self-sufficiency in any terrain, any climate, any country.
Meet version 2.0, a complete ground-up professional rebuild with a focus on reliability and long-term serviceability. Itβs not new anymore, but itβs incredibly well cared for, always stored indoors, and has been exceptionally reliable. If someone handed me a gas card and said, βGo drive the Pan-American,β Iβd leave tomorrow without a single modification.
