The Lite Pro Gear Feather Camera Crane is the most portable camera crane/jib solution in existence (still) for shoots in the backcountry and remote settings *OR* for indie film productions looking for high production value in a tidy package. The whole setup weighs under 3.8 pounds at 28" long, fitting easily on most large camera packs or stored in travel duffels. Can be counterbalanced in remote areas using rocks or on set using free weights with spring clamps.
Because of its weight, it works well with lighter fluid heads like the Benro S4 Pro, Manfrotto MVH500 as long as it's properly balanced on the appropriate tripod. On bigger heads like the Sachtler Aktiv 6, Aktiv 8, and the Manfrotto 500/502, this thing is in it's element. I've used it with big video tripods and finessed it with smaller (3lb) photo tripods. It's infinitely flexible so where there's a will, there's a way.
Made in the USA (and no longer in production) this is a bomber piece of equipment that brings big value to high angle shoots or small indie-type productions. There's nothing else that performs even close (I searched for years), especially in this form factor with this kind of portability.
It's been used on only a handfull of productions and is in excellent condition with lots of life left. It's been stored with the quick-release clamps open (and loosened) to minimize wear on the carbon sections. Pictured here, section by section, so you can see the condition. NOTE: this is not the Feather Camera Crane+ and is therefore suitable only for Mirrorless, DSLR, and small cine cam packages (C50, FX3, Black Magic Pocket, a stripped down Red Komodo/Komodo X and the like). If you're savvy, it can work with a pretty weighty setup.
