Motor Skill Ski Lesson Training (Big Sky)

Hi there,

My name is Patrick Connolly as Flathead Sport Movement
Certifications:
PSIA Level III
USSA Level 100 Race Coach
PSIA Children's Specialist II
Safe Sport certified
ExpertRating personal trainer certificate
CPR/First Aid (current)

I am a 55 year old professional ski instructor. There is a bit of a race bug in me still and am proficient at skiing all terrain and conditions as well.

Motor skills training is a personal practice I have been developing seasonally since 2008. Incorporating them in my winter lessons has worked well, but the greatest benefit is what we do at home. This is the service I can offer. I can not be booked for an on snow lesson at this time as I am working privately for the Yellowstone Club.

At your home preferably as we will customize a practice for your space. We will learn simple and complex movements patterns of skiing, where and how they are applied. Feeling logically paired muscle groups progressively grip and visualizing images of skiers an phases or the turn, while simulating those movements in motor skill exercises creates a muscle memory or muscle intelligence.

Example: The one legged stance balancing on the heal and big toe pads mostly, rotating the femur inward. With this balancing leg as the base of support we will grip core muscles like the internal abdominal oblique, amongst others, that laterally flexes and rotates the trunk into a skiing balanced stance. I will teach, while gripping these muscles, how these muscle groups fit into skiing and the different stages of the turn along with visual images of anatomy to best influence muscle memory and intelligence.

Motor skills training is highly under valued in our fast paced world. These drills and skills will bring coordination and intelligence to muscle systems used in skiing and alpine racing. This is not a rah rah, sweat your brains out training. It is intelligent, mindful, visual and a kinesthetic/feeling approach to heating paired muscle groups for skiing movements.

Whether your a recreational skier that wants to learn tight turns, powder skiing, a FIS level racer or a masters race athlete, this motor skills training will bring intelligence to muscles and movement patterns that will improve muscle coordination, balance and skiing. I am certain of it.

$44/hr per person. $77 for 2 peeps. $99 for 3.... Open to team or group price negotiation.

Have your best ski season ever! BSSE :o)
