Aladdin's Magic Carpet!! That's what comes to mind when I ride Birdie in gait. She is crazy smooth. Birdie is a 6 year old, grade Rocky Mountain Horse mare, standing about 15 hands that has spent her short life so far on the trails. She stands tied anywhere, is great for the farrier, has nice ground manners, and you can probably catch her even if you turned her loose in the state of Texas. She would find you. Then she would bask in the limelight of attention and hope you would just keep telling her she's beautiful while finding all of her favorite scratch spots. She always trailer loads like a lady and has an amazing ground covering smooth walk, along with that perfect 10 gait, and yes she canters.
