I have decided to reconfigure the plumbing in my van and unfortunately I am removing the isotherm Isotemp 601623 Slim Square 4.2 Gal/16L Electric Hot Water Heater. It is honestly one of the favorite things I included in my van build, but it hasn’t really been compatible with how/when my family has been using the van over the last 2.5 years. It works great and I have never hooked it into the coolant loop of the van. I have already sorted out all the adapters to connect it to a faucet, the cold water inlet and drain including a back flow valve so it holds pressure without putting heated water back into your fresh water lines.
This company has a lot of information about this heater as well as a kit for you to plumb in to utilize the “free” heat from your engine’s coolant system.
